FAQ
Ordering & Customization
How long does it take to receive my painting?
It takes up to 6 weeks for a piece to be painted depending on the selected size. Once shipped, you will receive a tracking number. The transit time depends on your location. All paintings are shipped from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Can I cancel or modify my order?
Changes in size and cancellations must be requested within 24 hours of purchase. Once a painter begins work on your piece, adjustments are no longer possible.
Do you offer discounts for multiple pieces?
Yes. Orders of 2 or more receive 10% off. For business or project-based orders requiring 5+ pieces, contact professionals@tonecurators.com for tailored pricing.
Can I request a custom size or composition?
All paintings are produced in our standard formats to maintain quality and edition integrity. For project-specific requirements, reach out to professionals@tonecurators.com.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers for larger orders.
Why are the two largest formats (112×140 and 144×180) only available as unstretched canvas?
Stretched and framed paintings at this scale require wooden crate shipping — and at these dimensions, crating costs become disproportionately high while the risk of transit damage increases significantly. Rather than pass on unpredictable fees or compromise on the condition of your work, we ship these formats as rolled canvas in a rigid art tube. This is the safest and most reliable method for large-format pieces. Once received, the canvas can be taken to a local framer for a fully custom finish.
Materials & Production
Who designs the paintings?
Our collection is designed by a varied group of artists. For select collaborations, our team works directly with established artists to create exclusive editions.
What materials do you use?
We use artist-grade oil paints and 400gsm linen canvas. Gallery wrap is constructed from solid pine: 2×3cm for standard sizes, 3×4cm for larger formats.
Are the paintings actually hand-painted?
Yes. Every piece is painted by hand using traditional techniques. No prints, no reproductions.
Will my painting look identical to what I ordered on the website?
Our paintings are produced by professional painters with over 20 years of experience. We assign the same artist to each composition whenever possible to ensure consistency. However, because every work is painted by hand, subtle variations occur naturally — this is what makes each piece unique. Please note that colors may also appear differently depending on your screen settings.
Are these limited editions?
Yes. Each design is painted no more than 99 times. Once an edition is complete, that composition is retired permanently.
What framing options are available?
Frames are handcrafted from solid wood and available in three finishes: natural oak, black, and white.
Shipping & Delivery
What regions do you ship to?
We currently ship across Europe and the UK. We’re actively working on expanding our shipping to more countries worldwide. Our paintings shipped from our Amsterdam studio to ensure the highest quality and minimize handling.
If you're unable to place an order because of your location, please contact us at support@tonecurators.com and we'll be happy to help.
For customers within the European Union, no additional taxes or import duties apply. For destinations outside the EU, customs charges may vary depending on local regulations.
How much does the shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout to ensure safe, artwork-specific delivery based on size and destination.
Do you include an invoice with the package?
No. Invoices are sent via email with your order confirmation, allowing our paintings to function as gifts without price disclosure. Gift cards are also available if you'd prefer not to choose a specific work.
My painting arrived damaged—what should I do?
Though rare, if your painting arrives in less than perfect condition, contact orders@tonecurators.com immediately with photos of both the work and packaging.
Returns & Exchanges
What is your return policy?
Each painting is made specifically for your order, so we're unable to accept returns. If you believe an error was made, reach out to orders@tonecurators.com right away and we'll work with you to find a resolution.
Can I exchange my painting for a different size?
All sales are final. Because each work is custom-painted, exchanges aren't possible once production begins.
Framing & Installation
Can I stretch or frame the canvas myself?
Yes. Canvases are delivered ready for stretching or framing. We recommend going to a local framer who can help you stretch and/or frame your art piece.
What hanging hardware do you recommend?
Framed pieces include wall buddies for simple installation. For smaller formats, standard screws are sufficient. For our two largest formats (112×140 and 144×180), we recommend wall anchors for added security.
How should I care for my painting?
Oil paintings are durable but should be kept out of direct sunlight and cleaned only with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid hanging in high-humidity areas like bathrooms.
